The Friday Fit Club is an 8-week weight-loss competition for prize money. Women and men compete separately. We start FRIDAY 12 JUNE 2015 and end on FRIDAY 7 AUGUST 2015.    
Here are the details:
The weigh-in takes place on your own scale on Friday mornings. Email a photo of the number on your scale to thefridayfitclub@gmail.com before 10 am in your time zone. 

Weekly results will be calculated as a percentage of weight lost -- not number of pounds.

Prize money for the women's category is awarded (depending on the number of participants) to the top three competitors who lose the greatest percentage of body weight (before and after photos are required to claim any of the cash prizes).

Men will compete as winner-takes-all. If more than 15-20 men sign up, the awards will be structured in the same way as the women's category. There are two ways to participate: compete for prize money or participate for accountability. 
1) Compete for prize money. The entrance fee is $45 in USD. There are now three ways to pay. You can send your money via 
VENMO to @ThereseGrinceri or  
Google Wallet to thefridayfitclub@gmail.com 
or PayPal to tmg2141@columbia.edu 
Be sure to pay in USD on PayPal. After you've logged in to PayPal, select the tab SEND MONEY TO FRIENDS & FAMILY. PayPal may charge you a small fee for the transaction. 
2) Participate for accountability. The entrance fee is $15 USD. You send in your weight each week, your results are posted on the private blog, you have access to the blog and the Facebook group, but you are not eligible for a prize.
Prize money will depend upon the number of competitors. Of the $45 entrance fee, $30 goes into the prize pool; $15 goes to The Chubby Club administrator for compiling the spreadsheets, updating the blog and managing the club.

Results are posted on a private blog. Each week, I will post the percentage lost or gained for each competitor. I will also update the leaderboard showing the comprehensive percentage of weight lost for each participant so you can track how you're faring against other competitors. You will have blog access for the duration of the competition, regardless of your status.

Receive support and share your weight-loss strategies on a private Facebook group. This is a great way to interact with other competitors to learn how you can refine your weight-loss method and how you can stay motivated to keep losing. 

The more competitors we have, the greater the prize pool. Also, those who compete with someone they know tend to lose more weight, so encourage your friends and family to join The Friday Fit Club with you.

I accept starting weights until Wednesday 17 June. Enrollment is capped at 100 competitors (we use Blogger which allows only 100 authors on a private blog). 

Please note that women who are pregnant or who have given birth within the past six weeks may not compete.
